For the last day of term, lessons may not follow a normal program, however they can still be engaging and mathematics related.
For example, the booklet “Islamic Art and Geometric Design: Activities for Learning” has some excellent design activities.
The March 1998 edition of “Mathematics In School” has an article “Celtic Design” which includes puzzle like designs. Students cut out the pieces to create the pattern.
Suitable to the weather in some parts of Australia at the moment, why not make Snowflakes using paper or a little more high-tech.
