Through the start of this term, I’ve been creating a series of electronic worksheets (in Excel) to cover the ‘earning money’ part of a Consumer Arithmetic topic.
For NSW teachers, that is:
NS5.1.2 Solves consumer arithmetic problems involving earning and spending money
Covers: wages, salaries, overtime, bonuses, casual work, commission, piecework, holiday pay, deductions and taxation. That is 10 topics, over 36 worksheets.
Worksheets scaffold the working out and are self-marking through-out each problem.
Also included is a booklet with print versions of the worksheets and an answer booklet.
Ideal for students in a computer lab or with their own laptops – upload to Edmodo or Moodle for students to download. Alternatively, use the electronic version on a projector/IWB and the print version with the students.
