Introducing Probability

This is an amusing video to introduce probability… some of my Year 8s found it hilarious.

I introduced the topic by putting the word “probability“ on the board and asking what the students knew about it. We then watched the video (twice, some kids wanted to watch it again), and discussed the probability of the event happening. We also talked about the last little bit of the video that shows “Probability = 0.0000001%”.

It’s a cool video except the probability of that happening is for all practical purposes 0.

It’s definitely put together in the editing room!
