End of term activities 3

Thursday, 11 December 2008

The end of year activity of choice this year, will be making Zombies!

I didn’t even realise that making little creatures our of paper was a hobby, but I came across the ZOMBIEFIE SIX at Thunder Panda recently - followed a few links and found that there were lots of these creative projects available to download, print and make.

Now, these papercrafts are not the easiest to make.  Particularly when you’re not prepared to hand-out craft knives.  So, I picked the two easiest looking.  Many of the Year 10s I trialled this with created the Zombie Dude and a couple completed Zombie Fold And Fun in the same lesson (1 hr).

I printed the patterns on coloured board.  We just used scissors, but I did bring in some thin double-sided tape as it sticks instantly, rather than trying to get bits to stick with glue.

Mathematical connections… um… well, there’s shapes and solids…

If you’re looking for something a little more seasonal, there’s always Santa (not Zombified), although he looks difficult.  Oh, and here’s “Rudy”.
